An EPC is a certificate that shows in detail the energy performance of a building. The certificate will give the properties an easy to understand rating of its energy efficiency using a scale of A-G along with any recommendations to improve the properties efficiency and save money following an on site survey carried out by an accredited Energy Assessor .

2. What does the on site survey involve– domestic?

Key areas including any extentions:– loft space, external wall types, glazing, heating systems, lighting ,energy supply meters. The total floor area will also be calculated .Details are entered into a government approved software package to produce an energy rating chart.

Key areas:-building type and fabric, usage and activity type eg. workshop, storage,lighting systems,heating ,ventilation and cooling systems. The total floor area is also calculated. Details are entered into a government approved software package to produce an energy rating chart. A srecommendations report is also generated to give an understanding of energy improvements.
